About

"My painting is what I give back to the world for what the world gives to me." - Georgia O’Keeffe

I have been blessed since my very beginnings…born in New Orleans into a large family, given much love and many opportunities for study, especially in dance and the theater arts, balanced with free time for exploration, inquiry, and reflection. Life and travel are great educators, and I am fortunate to be given many years of both. Faith, family, Nature and the Arts have formed me. Through painting, I seek to express life’s everlasting moments in portrait and figure, landscape, and still life. What a joy it is to paint!

I am serious about Art Making, and have studied oil painting from Robert Spooner, Kim English, Brenda Hendrix, and Mark Nelson, among others. I have continued my explorations in oil and watercolor through e-classes from the late Dennis Perrin and the colorist Dreama Tolle Perry. My interest in Art History led to college courses and narrowed my focus to those I cite as major influences: Sargent, Sorolla, and Fechin, Degas and O’Keeffe, Maynard Dixon and painters of the West, and the American Impressionists…headed by Robert Henri. I am honored to be selected the August 2023 Artist of the Month at the Robert Henri Museum and Gallery in Cozad, Nebraska.

I am a member of the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionists Society, and have exhibited at various galleries from 1991 to the present. The beautiful mountain West is my home and an unending source of inspiration. My husband Kevin, now retried and a writer, and I dote on our three grandsons and their parents. I am blessed. Life is very good indeed.
